Luc Frenette, M.D.
As a board certified anesthesiologist, I came to UAB in 1991 to help develop and grow the liver transplant program. Under my leadership, the transplant program became widely known as a national leader in the industry. I retired from UAB in 2012 and concentrated on opening the Walker Comprehensive Pain Service in 2013.
This year, I opened Preferred Pain Associates of Alabama with the goal of offering a variety of options to control chronic pain inside one centralized location. Our office strives to maintain a relaxing atmosphere that supports the patient as the center of the relationship, not the doctor.
When I’m not working with patients, I enjoy riding my bike for extended periods of time. I even won the State Championship for my age division on my first attempt!
